Why do we look at women like that?

India has been creating quite a buzz from centuries all around the world in the matters of culture and values, these days we are in news for other reasons, mostly having negative effect on the image of India as culturally rich country.Which include violence against women on top of the list. There are several reasons for these actions, thinkers and judicial personalities in the country have put forth several ideas for checking these attacks. These checks involve castrification, hang-to-death etc. But, I think the emphasis must be on changing the psychology of the persons that have committed the crime or persons who think of woman as a sex slave.

I think we have to change the image of woman in the country, woman is frequently illustrated as source for quenching materialistic pleasures. chests and shapes, to say it crudely, are all that we see when a woman pass by, this must change, talking mystically, woman is half part of man. This can be changed by media, especially movies, where actress is rarely a part of the story today, even the lead actress is just an asset, in some types of cinema. This can be a great place to start changing the attitude, because movies are the greatest influence on common man, this is undeniable.

And I want to add another thing here, we are in a dire need for a broader view on sex. With the advent of internet, pornography is easily accessible these days. So, one can easily addict to it, as he can't discuss or learn about sexual desires and sexual relations in detail out here, he would try to do that through pornography and other sources in internet. we know the porn in internet is in its most perverse state, so he can be greatly misguided about sex, psychologically.

I would like to share one more thing, about the comment that most men make about the changes in culture and life style and dressing style of woman, I think the right of commenting about a women wearing jeans lies with only those men who wear kurta and dhoti. It would be a joke if we think that culture is static. It just evolves with the time and we should have that courage to accept the change. Finally, I would say that we should keep in the mind that women is much more than a baby vending machine, this idea could only lead to social chaos and widening of the gap between sexes.
